Matthew Ryan Kilgore received his B.M. from Rutgers University, his M.M. from Northwestern University, and is currently ABD at the University of North Texas. He is currently teaching at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, has taught adjunct for Tarrant County College, and been a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas.

Ryan is returning for his third year with Rhythm X indoor performance ensemble after a hiatus since 2009. He is also currently in his 6th year on staff with the percussion program at The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. He also has worked with the Marcus High School drum line for their 2012 PASIC marching championship and Lake Highlands High School, winners of the Marching Division of the Lonestar drum line competition 2012.

Ryan's past teachers include She-e Wu, Michael Burritt, Mark Ford, Christopher Deane, Ed Soph, Dr. Robert Schietroma, Paul Rennick, James Ross, and Chris Deviney. Ryan has been a featured performer at PASIC in 2004, 2007, 2009, and 2011, as well as performs and clinics extensively throughout the United States.
